In this increasingly multilingual worldwide society that we are living in it is prudent to at minimum introduce your children to a second language and not raise them to be monolingual.
As an adult second language learner, I can tell you that it is difficult (though not impossible) to acquire a second language and you are more likely to give up and not persevere to the point of fluency once you are past a certain age (unless you are very, very motivated to learn or are forced to learn due to your circumstances--i.e. perhaps a job or career where you need to have at least conversational skills in a second language). ...Read more
